Currently reading Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" after thoroughly enjoying her more recent novel, "Oryx and Crake." I love a good post-apocalyptic tale of not-so-distant futures as much as the next guy, and Atwood definitely dominates the genre in terms of satire and reflecting our society through a fun house mirror.
Is it so far-fetched to believe that everything as we know it could change in the blink of an eye? That perhaps the end is already nigh and zooming towards us at millions of light years per second as we live on in blissful ignorance of its arrival? Don't forget, even the sun is 8.31 light minutes away which means any moment now we could be experiencing a catastrophy of solar proportions.
And if you ever see me zone out into space, I'm often dreaming up escape routes and survival plans against an impending zombie uprising. Better to be safe than sorry, and oh how sorry you'll be.

I bring them to the light for you
Love how an album/track can instantly transport your mind to a different time and place. Kid CuDi "Soundtrack 2 My Life" = 10/09, wandering around the Science Park in Potsdam, Germany at dusk by myself with not another soul in sight.
Unfortunately (?) I lost track of time in my adventuring, missed the last bus and had to fend for myself armed only with my trusty German phrasebook and a hearty American smile.
"HAUBTENHOF?"
